This was a tough week. Twice were were is really good positions to win very competitive matches, and twice we came out on the wrong side of the score line.
This week's round of conference matches put us on the road for our longest trip of the season. The performances, and results, were missed.
We started Lone Star Conference play this week with a pair of home matches. The result was a split, as we once again struggled mentally on Saturday.
We had a solid home tournament, with the team making notable gains in our areas of focus. That ends the pre-conference portion of the schedule.
The season started with our first tournament hosted by a Top-25 ranked team with some good opposition. The performances were mixed, but we learned a lot.
The second and final week of preseason went pretty well. Lots still to work on, but everyone can see what we're trying to do.
The first week of preseason saw us work on team culture, physical assessments, and of course evaluating our needs and starting the development process.
College volleyball in the rest of the world operates very differently from how it mainly does in the U.S. Can't help but wonder how the best teams compare.
