Developing good hitter mentality

Here’s an insightful – and funny – video featuring legendary coach Julio Velasco. He makes a couple of interesting points related to inter-player communication in the first part. Toward the end, though, what he says about hitters needing to have solutions for different situations speaks both to the required mindset of attackers and to the value of random training to develop those solutions.

In other words, don’t let your hitters get away with attacking only good sets. They need to figure out how to deal with all kinds.
