Sharing volleyball coaching insights and ideas

I've talked with all the returners and we're close to filling a couple of the foreign player spots. My housing situation dominates my thinking, though.

Most of my focus this week was on getting to know the confirmed returning players, though player recruitment continues to be front and center.

The last week has seen me continue work on identifying player signings, plus starting to connect with the players and develop priorities.

The first training is months away, but a professional volleyball coach's work isn't just on the court. For me the 2015-16 season is already underway.

This was both the team's last training session of the term and my last training session with the club.

My penultimate training with the team was lightly attended, but the focus and intensity levels made for a satisfying session.

In preparation for a big league match I focused training on game play and used a new twist to combine serve-initiated rallies with over-speed action.

While there were frustrations about certain aspects of things this training, there were a couple of significant positive takeaways.

My last match in charge saw a lot of things click for the team, leading them to their first win of the season and revenge…

Unfortunately, it was one of our shorter training slots for this session before our next match, so game play was strongly featured.
