In my last update I mentioned the England Women’s National Team head coach position. I made the short-list and they interviewed me in mid-September. I finally heard from them yesterday about the result. Alas, they opted for someone else. That was always a distinct possibility, especially given my location, so not a major surprise. Nevertheless, some of my contacts over there were quite disappointed.

I could yet become a member of the England staff. That depends on the new coach. We shall see.

As for my paying job, I am now resident in Charleston. I arrived a little over a week ago. Officially, I start work for Charleston Academy on the 15th, but for the last couple of weeks I’ve taken part in various calls, meetings, and such. Last Monday I attended club volleyball info session for parents of players new to juniors volleyball. On Saturday I attended a high school junior varsity tournament. This weekend I will attend a varsity tournament. Just getting a sense of the level of play in the area.

In future posts I’ll talk about my work with CA and the things the club is doing.
