Although it was a session before a league match, the absence of a number of players saw me run a high contact volume training session rather than working 6 v 6.

Although it was a session before a league match, the absence of a number of players saw me run a high contact volume training session rather than working 6 v 6.
This volleyball drill gets a lot of players active on one court working on serving, passing, setting and hitting - and potentially blocking and defense.
After a day of meetings that cleared up some line-up questions, ball-handling was the major theme of this training session.
After a hard session the night before, the team was pretty poor in all facets of volleyball in this session.
Two primary areas of focus for this session - evaluating a pair of potential new additions and putting the players under physical and mental strain.
An integrated 6 v 6 game convinced me that I need to have A and B teams separated for at least the next few weeks to help the A team prepare for upcoming matches.
The first training session of the year focused on blocking movement, serving and passing - and on starting to develop the gym atmosphere I want.
This is a combination volleyball passing and setting drill, which can also incorporate controlled serving and/or hitting.
This is a volleyball game which can be used to give your team lots of focused serve receive reps, and even more to the weaker rotations.
