A reader asked me how to go about getting an assistant coaching job at the college level. Here is my advice for someone looking to break in.
What if you didn't actually run warm-ups, but rather let the team warm themselves up as they saw fit? How do you think that would go?
FIVB seems to regularly experiment with efforts to get volleyball into a 2-hour match length. I have an idea, but I'm not sure if we really need to adapt.
Midwestern State had regular meeting just for the assistant coaches, which is an interesting arrangement I hadn't seen before.
"Move your feet" is often heard respect to serve reception. Given the importance of platform angle, should we instead be saying "move your platform"?
It might be Spring Break on campus at the moment, but that doesn't mean the coaches get to go off and have a vacation. The work continues!
What can you do when your players push back on the way you do your practice, in particular wanting more block rather than random training.
When it comes to a pre-serve process keep in mind that both servers and passers should have them and that in both cases they should be simple.
