You want to know what coaching at a higher level looks like? To be clear, I mean being a better coach, not coaching at a higher level of play. The following quote comes from an academic research paper. It relates the findings of prior research.
More skilled coaches showed more extensive and complex decision-making strategies, a higher number of statements and a deeper (i.e., less superficial) focus of attention when compared with less-skilled coaches.
In other words, better coaches see more and understand more. They think and talk about the game, training, player management, and everything else that drives coaching success at a deeper level than others.
If you want to be a better coach, that’s what you need to work on.
P.S.: That paper I linked to is interesting, but pretty limited in terms of making useful conclusions.
