Just handled a couple of things over the last seven days. The big focus at the moment is on preparing for my departure from England next week.
Here's a list of things that trip coaches up that I believe is worth a bit of thinking about, and probably some discussion.
Are there errors you've made in your coaching past that really stand out in your mind? Is that because you fixate on them?
Arrangements for my initial visit to Svedala have been made. We have also now officially made our first two foreign players signings for the new season.
Many coaches say they don't really approach coaching female athletes differently than male athletes. Is that really the case? Should it be?
A young American national team volleyball player just signed on with one of the top pro teams in Europe, forgoing his senior year in college. Good move?
It has been said that to win 25-0 is to show maximum respect to your opponent. I agree, but also suggest it means you lost a developmental opportunity.
Players are limited in what they perceive and remember, which is one of the reasons there are coaches, but we also need to be aware of our own limits there.
I've talked with all the returners and we're close to filling a couple of the foreign player spots. My housing situation dominates my thinking, though.
