Over the past two weeks I helped out at two of the USA Volleyball High Performance try-outs. It was an interesting experience and recommended.
It was kind of a choppy week of practice between indoor vs. outdoor, main gym vs. secondary gym, and outside influences on things.
Between working try-outs, running practice, and finally getting out to do some recruiting, it's going to be a very busy weekend.
A volleyball coach recently asked for a bit of clarification on the subject of setter foot position and back-to-front weight transfer.
In golf they use a handicap system to allow players of different levels to compete on a level field. Can we do something like that in volleyball?
It was a mixed week for us as MSU, with some team building stuff, a bit of time playing outside in the sand, and dealing with banged up players.
I'll be attending and participating in my first USA Volleyball High Performance program try-outs today. Should be interesting.
The footprint of the league I'm coaching in now is just a bit larger than the ones from when I was coaching in England and Sweden.
